IFSPD – GLOSCO Sessions

We are delighted to announce that we are introducing a new initiative, starting July 2025,  designed to enrich our students’ learning experience and support their growth in exciting new ways – Global Sustainability Councils (GLoSCo) of IFSPD (International Foundation for Sustainable Peace and Development). This initiative aims to provide our students with valuable opportunities beyond the regular curriculum.

Program Overview

IFSPD Europe (ifspd.eu) is one of the largest international institutions established in 2009, by heads of Europe. Partner of UN and with 60+ member nations, it is the largest in sustainability initiatives. Every year, IFSPD Europe selects 10 schools from their member countries to be part of their flagship youth initiative – IFSPD Europe Fellowships, a higher order, structured, continuous capacity enhancement program for students from grade 6 onwards. Alumni include UN National Heads, Senators, Presidential Advisors, CEOs, Senior Economists, Technocrats, Researchers & Ivy League students. Over 50% qualify to the top colleges with scholarships. Considering GSIS leadership and contributions, this year, our school was selected as a Champion school in South Asia. As part of the program, our students will gain exposure in the following components.

Program Components

1. Global Sustainability Council: Enabling students to develop an understanding of interpreting complex multi-stakeholder global sustainability challenges with international implications. They implement a four-step framework called IRAC, gaining insights on the various nuances, to arrive at logical data backed conclusions through diplomatic enclaves.
2. Portfolio Management System: PortAhead, the IFSPD Europe student portfolio system, helps students gain competitive advantage by enabling them map their competencies and build a portfolio. It offers selected students exclusive international avenues, such as representing India at the UN and Davos Worldwide summits. Students gain access to curated fellowships, internships, and CEO shadowings, while earning global endorsements for their achievements.
3. Sustainability Summits: Like the Model United Nations, students will participate in stimulating discussions focused on developing solutions to the most urgent global challenges we face today.
4. Social Start-ups: Enabling student teams to create start-ups – solving social problems through innovation and measurable SMART Goals, complying to the United Nation SDGs using a copyrighted 4-steps process.

Benefits:

1. Skill Development: Measured improvements in multi-stakeholder thinking, leadership, sustainability, critical thinking, global analysis, entrepreneurship, confidence, and diplomacy.
2. Recognition and Certification: Students earn certificates and accolades for their participation and achievements. Awards like Best Speaker, Best Chairperson, and Best Diplomat. Letter of Recommendation from IFSPD Europe President, for top students; highly enhancing top college
admission chances.
3. Academic Enhancement: Enhances student portfolios, increasing their chances of admission to top universities and careers. Over 50% qualify to the top colleges with scholarships.

All students of grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 will take part in GLoSCo, which will be held twice a month for an hour each. Students of grades 10, 11 and 12 will be provided with opportunities to take part in a Special Track Programme – which includes participating as speakers or participants in ‘Conference of the Parties’ which refers to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) international meeting focusing on climate, CEO shadowing, etc.

We believe this programme will be a wonderful addition to everything we offer for our students.
