Good Shepherd International School successfully conducted the Good Shepherd Model United Nations (GSMUN) 2020 virtual sessions from October 8 to 9 with the theme “A world of turmoil: confronting crisis for global peace”. The ceremony opened with a welcome address by the GSMUN council, followed by a special address by the honorable Chief Guest – Mr. Muralee Thummarukudy, the Chief of Disaster Risk Reduction in the UN Environment Programme. Mr. Thummarukudy conveyed his best wishes to all delegates at the Opening Ceremony and also reminded the students of their vital role as the catalysts of future change and progress.
The GSMUN 2020 deliberations were spread across six committees – Security Council (SC),
United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), United Nation Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Youth Assembly (YA) and Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL).
