Empowering young minds for a world of discover
At GSIS, we are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every student feels at home. Our dorm parents, counselors, and pastoral team ensure students’ academic, emotional, and social well-being are cared for with thoughtfulness. Boarding is thoughtfully organized with separate dormitories for boys and girls, offering privacy, comfort, and a strong sense of belonging. With 26 dorms spread across our picturesque campus, each space is designed to suit different age groups and grade levels. The dorms are vibrant communities where students bond, collaborate, and grow under the guidance of experienced dorm parents—forming lifelong friendships in a home away from home.
At GSIS, we prioritize creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student feels valued. From the moment a student joins our fully residential school, their well-being becomes our priority. With the help of housemasters, counsellors, medical officers, and dedicated staff, students are provided with continuous care and guidance throughout their time at GSIS.
At Good Shepherd International School, pastoral care is not just a service — it’s the heart of our fully residential ethos. We believe a child’s wellbeing shapes their ability to learn, lead, and thrive. Every student here is part of a living, learning community where care is constant, relationships are meaningful, and growth happens in every corner of our campus.
From the day they arrive, students are welcomed into an environment where adults know their names, understand their needs, and look out for them like family. This is the GSIS difference — a blend of structure, warmth, and opportunity that ensures every child feels at home while being prepared for the world beyond.
Our role is to ensure every child feels they are known, respected, and encouraged to grow beyond their own expectations.
Each student at GSIS becomes part of a vibrant residential community, guided by experienced and caring boarding house parents. These staff members ensure that students receive the right balance of academic, social, and emotional support. They are not only guardians but also mentors who encourage students to grow personally and socially.

Our Student Welfare Team, alongside the medical staff, ensures the overall well-being of students with round-the-clock care and supervision. From medical care to emotional support, we are always ready to address any concern students may have.
Two fully equipped medical facilities provide immediate care, with partnerships for clinical investigations ensuring all health needs are met.
Our counsellors provide a safe space for students to talk about their challenges, be it academic stress, emotional struggles, or personal issues.
Regular workshops are organized to promote mental health awareness, stress management, and well-being among students
Our fully residential setup eliminates the time tax associated with daily commutes that are necessary in cities and day schools. Instead, we invest this time into meaningful learning and extracurricular activities, allowing students to explore new interests, develop skills, and engage in a broader range of activities. Studies show that children in non-residential schools spend nearly 15-20% of their day commuting, while at GSIS, this time is repurposed for personal growth and development
By leveraging the time lost to travel, students at GSIS can participate in enriching activities such as sports, music, drama, and academic enrichment programs, ensuring they are more well-rounded and better prepared for future success.

Saturdays at GSIS bring the perfect blend of productivity and relaxation. The day begins with early morning training for athletes and spirited band practice, followed by a hearty breakfast and focused morning academic sessions. As the day unfolds, students dive into creative explorations, hands-on projects, and a variety of vibrant club activities that nurture their interests and talents.
The afternoon offers a balance of structured games and sports training, along with personal “ME time” in the boarding houses for rest, reading, or simply unwinding. After tea, the community comes together for a light-hearted movie session, before wrapping up the evening with dinner, relaxed conversations, and a calm wind-down to lights out at 10:30 pm.
Students begin with options for worship and reflection, including chapel services, Quran study, Bagavat Geeta sessions, yoga, and quiet reflection. After a hearty breakfast, students can engage in creative activities like the Inter House Art Competition or drama and music sessions.
After lunch, students participate in sports and games, with younger students enjoying movie time or other activities like dance, music, or reading sessions.
The day winds down with family video calls, dinner, and free time, giving students the opportunity to relax before the week ahead
Safety and security form a constant, reassuring presence. The campus is monitored with vigilance and care, creating an environment where children can explore, learn, and play without concern. This extends to the unseen but vital work of managing maintenance schedules, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth transportation. With over 850 CCTV cameras, 24/7 trained security staff, and strict visitor protocols, GSIS maintains an environment where students can explore with confidence. All students benefit from a phone-free policy, keeping their focus on in-person connection and learning.
Travel for vacations is supervised, with staff escorting students to airports or rail stations in major metro cities, ensuring safe handovers.
We believe that good nutrition fuels both academic success and personal well-being. Led by Head Chef Suraj Khati, our culinary team designs balanced, nutritious menus that cater to diverse dietary needs, keeping cultural preferences and age-specific requirements in mind.
At GSIS, we believe that good nutrition is the foundation for student success. We carefully craft menus that provide balanced, nutritious meals to support students’ growth and performance, both physically and mentally.
Our goal is to foster healthy eating habits that will serve students well beyond their time at school, ensuring they are fueled for success in the classroom, on the field, and in their extracurricular pursuits
To ensure the highest quality of ingredients, GSIS sources fresh produce directly from our own 40 acre farm in Gudalur and from in-house hydroponics grown on campus.
