TEDxGoodShepherdIntlSchool 2026 — The Ripple Effect

Reading time: 4 min

Something extraordinary happened at Good Shepherd International School this year. Twelve students stepped onto a stage — not to receive an award, not to perform a rehearsed piece — but to share an idea. An idea they believed in. An idea they were willing to stand behind in front of their peers, their teachers, and the world.

That is what TEDxGoodShepherdIntlSchool 2026 was all about.

Ideas Worth Spreading, Born Right Here in the Nilgiris

This year’s theme — The Ripple Effect: Choices, Stories, Ideas — wasn’t just a title. It was a lens through which our students examined their own lives and the world around them. The premise was simple and profound: every choice you make, every story you carry, every idea you dare to voice — sends a ripple outward. And those ripples change things.

It’s a theme that resonates deeply with the GSIS spirit. We’ve always believed that education is not just about what you know, but about what you do with what you know.

The Journey Behind the Stage

What the audience saw on the day was just the final chapter of a months-long journey. Long before the red circle appeared on stage, our student speakers were meeting with coaches, rethinking their ideas, rewriting their scripts, and confronting the very real fear of standing up and saying something that matters.

They researched. They drafted. They rehearsed in corridors and common rooms. They questioned themselves — and then chose to go ahead anyway. That process — of finding your voice and trusting it — is perhaps the most valuable thing TEDx gives a young person.

The students who took the stage this year are not the same students who signed up months ago. Something shifted in them. And that shift, we suspect, will ripple outward for years to come.

Twelve Voices. Twelve Ripples.

From [Speaker Name]’s exploration of [Talk Topic] to [Speaker Name]’s deeply personal story of [Talk Topic] — each talk brought a completely different perspective to the same essential question: how do our choices shape the world beyond ourselves?

(Replace the placeholders above with your 12 speaker names and talk topics — each deserves a line!)

What struck everyone in the auditorium was the fearlessness of it. These are school students. Some of them were visibly nervous. And yet, every single one of them finished their talk. Every one of them delivered something real.

What Comes Next

TEDx at GSIS is not a one-time event. It is the beginning of something. For the students who spoke, this is proof that their voice carries weight. For the students who watched, this is an invitation to think about what they would say if given the stage.

For GSIS as a school, TEDxGoodShepherdIntlSchool is a declaration — that we are a place where ideas are taken seriously, where students are trusted with real responsibility, and where the next generation of thinkers, makers, and changemakers are already at work.

The ripple has started. Watch where it goes.
