A Different School of Thought, in Action
At GSIS, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) shapes young learners into thinkers, doers, and leaders who are confident in who they are and curious about the world around them.
This fully residential IB MYP experience nurtures academic depth, real-world connections, and life skills — within a vibrant, structured community.
“Through the MYP, our students are encouraged to ask bold questions, embrace challenges, and discover who they are as learners and individuals. It’s a stage that builds resilience, perspective, and confidence.”
Ms. Archana R. Singh
MYP Coordinator
Why Choose Our MYP Program
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IB MYP) at GSIS is reshaping education for students aged 11 to 16. Building upon the strong foundation of our PYP, the IB MYP stands as a symbol of innovation, fostering lifelong learners.
Empowering Innovators with Skills for the Future
This curriculum surpasses traditional rote learning, focusing on vital 21st-century skills such as media literacy, creative thinking, critical thinking, and effective organization. IB MYP students don’t memorize; they become active learners, adept at navigating the dynamic, interconnected world.
Understanding, Empathy, and Purpose
What sets IB MYP apart is its dedication to nurturing globally minded, empathetic citizens. We foster a deep understanding of global issues, empathy for diverse cultures, and a sense of purpose.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
IB MYP emphasizes real-world application, empowering students to apply their knowledge and skills to address tangible problems. This approach not only makes learning engaging but also equips students to positively impact their communities and the world.
Interdisciplinary Exploration
In our classrooms, students embrace interdisciplinary learning through projects like Interdisciplinary Units (IDUs), gaining a holistic understanding of global challenges.
Student-Driven Innovation
What truly sets our IB MYP students apart is their initiative and creativity. They engage in research, critical thinking, and innovative projects, addressing real-world issues.
Learning Beyond the Walls
Our students go beyond the classroom, merging language and theater arts creatively, actively participating in Visual Arts, Design, and Service action, giving back to the community and connecting classroom content to the real world.
Learning That Connects
GSIS follows the complete IB MYP framework across Grades 6–10 (ages 11–16). With inquiry at its core, the curriculum encourages students to explore concepts across subjects and apply learning in real-life contexts. Interdisciplinary projects, the Personal Project, and Service as Action form the backbone of how students grow — with every class designed to sharpen thinking, spark action, and build a deeper sense of purpose.

Inclusive Education at GSIS
At Good Shepherd International School, we believe that true excellence in education lies in inclusion. Every learner brings a unique set of strengths, challenges, and perspectives—and it is this diversity that enriches our community.
Our commitment to inclusive education ensures that all students, regardless of their individual learning needs, feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed. Through a culture rooted in empathy, equity, and collaboration, we strive to create an environment where each student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
Inclusion at GSIS is not just a philosophy—it is a shared responsibility and a way of life.
Our SEN Vision: Empowering Every Learner
The Special Educational Needs (SEN) Department at GSIS is dedicated to supporting students who experience learning differences that may impact their educational journey. These differences do not limit potential—they require thoughtful, tailored approaches that make learning accessible and meaningful.
We work in partnership with teachers, coordinators, parents, and students to design and implement individualized strategies and accommodations. Whether a student’s needs are academic, behavioral, or emotional, our goal is to ensure that they are met with understanding, encouragement, and the right tools to succeed.
We believe that with early intervention, continuous support, and a foundation of care, every student can build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of self-worth.
A Note from the Special Educator
“Each learner is a story waiting to be heard—each with their own rhythm, voice, and spark. I believe that every child can flourish when we take the time to understand how they learn and what inspires them. Inclusion is not just about access—it’s about belonging. At GSIS, we don’t just accommodate differences, we celebrate them.”
— Amruta Mathpati, Special Educator
